The book has two stories of the little horned guy and a Gallery. I had the privilege of an introduction by Joe Jusko and an endorsement by James Baxter.
I'll be with "The Young Minotaur" at the San Diego Comic Con (Booth B8) Hope to see you there.
Here Is my contribution to the Totoro Forest Project. "Totoro Forest Project is an international charity effort to preserve Sayama Forest, also known as Totoro Forest. This endangered sanctuary on the outskirts of Tokyo is where director Hayao Miyazaki got the inspiration for his much loved character “Totoro.” Over 200 top international artists from animation, illustration, and comics are donating artwork especially created for this cause"
I'm glad to announce that I just finished a new book:"The Young Minotaur". The little horned guy has found his way back. This new book will collect all the drawing posted on my Blog plus a bunch of new ones. For those of you who are interested in seeing the process behind my drawings, I have included a Gallery with some finished pencil drawings, preliminary studies, unused ideas and sketches.
Kung Fu Panda has some 2D animation credits that echoes the opening dream sequence animated in 2D by James Baxter. For the final credits I animated the Panda. Here is one of the keys and the final frame.
Just finished working on Kung Fu Panda! It has been an amazing experience. The characters, designed by Nico Marlet, were so much fun to animate. If you are interested you could check out the Kung Fu Panda web site. The opening scene with the panda doing some clumsy Kung Fu is mine. Hope you enjoy.
A dear friend of mine, Isabella, posted on her blog some pictures of my hometown Origgio. Origgio is a small Italian town (6000 inhabitants) near Milano. Isabella, with her beautiful pictures made me homesick.
This is is the final panel of the story that I started on April 8. It "just" took 5 months to do 19 drawings. Thanks to Joe Jusko for suggesting a new series of the Young Minotaur.
