Milt Kahl's eyebrows

I thought that I was drawing this kind of eyebrows on my characters because of Milt Khal's influence on my design. But some people here in Dreamworks have a different theory. First Nicolas Marlet, and now Patric Mate', showed me that I draw that kind of eyebrows because I HAVE those eyebrows. Have a look at this Patrick Mate' caricature of me and decide for yourself.

  1. I like the brows. Great sense of emotion in your characters poses, you can do alot with the droopy eyebrows. Its hard not to have the eyes not be the main focus of the character, but with yours the pose speaks for itself.

Wonderful, it' only a sketch but really expressive!

  11. lovely stuff as usual- and of course- great eyebrows- whether they're yours or Kahl's!

Don't you get frustrated sometimes that you can't stretch/ deform your character to poses like this in 3d?(though I suppose at Dreamworks you must be working with pretty amazing rigs eh?)

  15. Thanks guys for your compliments!

Boris- Talking about 2D feeling in 3d. I think on "Madagascar" the animators did a pretty good job. Don't you think?

Willie- You are right. After I read your comment I was looking at my lion and I thought... Yes this could be the lion version of the character that Bill Nighy was playing in "Love Actually"!
