Spontaneity, simplicity and beauty in the Quentin Blake's illustrations are for me a source of delight and wonder. When I draw, I often think about his work and that helps me fighting the fear of doing a bad drawing.
Gabriele, great blog...man! can you kindly tell me any books that's there on Khal, He too is one of my favourite animators from the legendry "Old Nine Men", but I cant seem to lay any hands on his illustrations...or books or notes... :)

just came across your blog and wanted to make a comment here. i'm also a fan of quentin's work and of the roald dahl stories that he illustrated. i discovered both of them later in life, for some reason. quentin's illustrations are very refreshing to look at. i think a common tendancy is toward perfection in one's work. quentin's a great example of just how unimportant that is. i could probably stand to keep him in mind in much the same way you've suggested. thanks for the thought.
