Me and Sargent

The Huntington Gardens is one of my favorite places here in L.A..
Here I am at the gallery in front at one of the Sargent paintings.
Who doesn't like Sargent?

Hey Gabriele,
Great stuff on here. Amazing actually.
I too just returned from basking in some Sargents at the Met in ny. His work is so much more breathtaking in person.

You must have seen the beautiful new book, all Sargent's later portraits. It's sublime. Unbelivably stupid that for decades he was more or less dismissed as a mere "pretty celebutante" portraitist...to see his work in person, his brush strokes...wow!

Im a big fan of Sargent. You must see Madame X at the Metropolitan Museum in NY if you haven't.

If you ever get to Boston, you have to check out Sargent's El Jaleo at the Gardner Museum.
It is absolutely breathtaking in person and pictures don't even come close to
capturing it.
