Kung Fu Panda

Just finished working on Kung Fu Panda!
It has been an amazing experience. The characters, designed by Nico Marlet, were so much fun to animate. If you are interested you could check out the Kung Fu Panda web site. The opening scene with the panda doing some clumsy Kung Fu is mine.

Hope you enjoy.

Man, you're animation is just beautiful. Can't wait to see it all finished.

Gabriele Pennacchioli said...

Thanks guys.

orange- You wont be disappointed. This movie looks beautiful and has a great main character. The Panda's voice is Jack Black and he is "Awesome!"

chris bivins- Nicolas Marlet worked close with the 3D modelers and the result is on the screen.
My last animation as 2D animator was on "Enchanted" under the direction of James Baxter. I love 2D but at the moment I'm more interested in 3D.

moth- Yes, it has been amazing. We had a great team of animators and we all loved working on it. I hope it will show on the screen.

samacleod- And you shall see it!

Thanks guys.

scarecrow- certo che mi ricordo, cosi' come mi ricordo che il panda e' uno dei tuoi animali preferiti.

bobby pontillas- Thanks. On Kung Fu Panda I didn't work in story or art department.
I did gave some story idea while I was working on my shoots. The animation that you see on the web site is an example. In that case I suggested to present the panda as a real Kung Fu master, then he looks around and starts to fight imaginary enemies doing some clumsy Kung Fu. In the original storyboard he was doing some generic Kung Fu.

hey bulldog- I'm glad you like it. You can see two more shoots of mine in the last trailer. They are: the panda reaching the top of the stairs rolling on himself and cheering.

I see the trailer.. ehm, parliamo italiano, va... :-)
Ho visto il trailer e sembra proprio carino! Presto io e signora andremo a vedercelo! E come per Shrek, nella scena dell'omino di pan di zenzero, sarà simpatico pensare che "quel tizio che disegnava Dylan Dog" ha fatto questo cartone!
Ciao.
