Origgio

A dear friend of mine, Isabella, posted on her blog some pictures of my hometown Origgio.
Origgio is a small Italian town (6000 inhabitants) near Milano.
Isabella, with her beautiful pictures made me homesick.

More pictures from Comic Con

Me and the amazing Eric Canete with animation legend Eric Goldberg.

Chris Sanders was a lot of fun. He acted like he really loved my book.

Donnacchada, Jakob and me having a good time at the booth.

Paulina and Elmira were great fun. Here, Elmira is selling Jakob's book!

This "green family from outer space" was one of my favorite group costumes.

At the Con there were about 20 zombies walking around and they were great but these two zombie children were amazing!

Gingerbread Man!

Many articles are talking about my Gingerbread Man flashback sequence! Some of them are really flattering.
Here are some excerpts:

Sean the movie guy:
" I'm still a huge fan of the Gingerbread Man, and his origin montage makes for my favorite moment in the film."

UndergroundOnline:
"... and the moment when the Gingerbread Man watches his life flash before his eyes is one of the funniest scenes of the whole series"

Yahoo:
"Except for a few moments here and there, such as Prince Charming's gleefully corny stage productions and a Gingerbread Man flashback montage, much of the original sense of ingenious fun is gone."

Killer Movie:
"The only other moment, about a minute actually, worth seeing is when the Gingerbread Man's life passes all too quickly before his royal icing eyes. "

Mania:
"Highlights for me where the Gingerbread Man's flashback. This was awesome, intricate, and long enough to make me believe he could have his own spin off. That tiny sequence almost made the film for me."

Scenestealers
"A scene stealer in both Shrek movies, the Gingerbread Man does it again with an entire-life-before-his-eyes flashback that packs more funny into one minute than anything from Donkey or Puss in Boots..."

You cand find most of these reviews on Rottentomatoes.

Thanks
Gabriele

Shrek The Third

Shrek The Third opens in theaters this weekend.
On this project I had the opportunity to write and storyboard a sequence of mine: The Gingerbread Man flashback montage.
If you go to see the movie let me know what you think about it.
I hope you'll enjoy it.

Kataweb ha pubblicato un'articolo su Shrek 3 di cui si parla del mio lavoro sul film.
Se vi va di ascoltare la mia voce, nell'articolo c'e il link alla mia intervista telefonica fatta dalla gentile Arianna Finos.

Woman With Green Scarf

I did a little sketch back in 1997 about this woman that I meet in a rainy day in Munich.
What I really liked was her green scarf. That color made quite an impression on me...
Here is a version of that sketch with digital colors and shadows.

Here is my first full digital drawing.
It has been done with a tablet pc drawing directly on the screen.
