Gabriele, I have always had a penchant for cartoons of any sort. As a kid, I enjoyed a steady diet of Looney Toones and any Disney animation that we could see in theaters or on TV. I guess this is why I love all aspects of cartooning as an adult. In reality, I am an artist and paint still life art in a highly realistic style. I guess my realism strips away some of the humor that I enjoy in other artist’s illustrative style .
You had me at Frank Frazetta the dream weaver of fantasy art. That man was a genius who lived and painted in his own microcosm. Your latest creation Mammut looks like the story line will be loads of fun. There’s nothing that’s as adorable as a baby elephant. Think back to the early years of WW2 and Disney’s epic Dumbo. I always enjoyed stories about mythology and your blog is full of mythological illustrations. The myths that surround the Illiad and the Odessey are perfectly honed for your iconic illustrations.
