Just a Cat

Animation movies are full of really nice cats. One of my favorite design are the cats from Don Bluth's "Banjo the Woodpile Cat". I also love the ones that Nicolas Marlet and Carlos Grangel did for the animation version of the musical "Cats".

I worked on that "Cats" with Nico in L.A. Our little group did story for a year or so: David B, me, Paul F....that was kind of it. Christian and Luc were the designers. Nicolas came over a few months into it and got to work;his cat paintings are indeed typically beautiful, and I have them all somewhere.
I also thought Banjo was a neat kitten, and you're right--animated cats are among the most fun designs you can find. Another of my favorites is Sgt. Tibbs from "101 Dalmations"(very scrawny design, a bit different).
Terrific blog! Thanks for doing it. :)
