Quentin Blake

Spontaneity, simplicity and beauty in the Quentin Blake's illustrations are for me a source of delight and wonder. When I draw, I often think about his work and that helps me fighting the fear of doing a bad drawing.

I concur with chilly willy...He kinda reminds me of Mr. Tumnus in Narnia. Good light feel to the piece.

I was a huge fan of Quentin Blake when I was child and am often surprised to see how much of an influence now that I'm an adult.

just came across your blog and wanted to make a comment here. i'm also a fan of quentin's work and of the roald dahl stories that he illustrated. i discovered both of them later in life, for some reason. quentin's illustrations are very refreshing to look at. i think a common tendancy is toward perfection in one's work. quentin's a great example of just how unimportant that is. i could probably stand to keep him in mind in much the same way you've suggested. thanks for the thought.
